Lead kindly light. (Very loosely translated. I think literally it means, “kind light”.) There is a Gregorian chant of that name.
Good television
I like Netflix a lot. And I find the company’s service a good source for good television series: The Sopranos, West Wing, and others. I am currently watching the fourth season of Northern Exposure. Specifically, just now, the “Northern Lights” episode. I am having difficulty describing the power of the last few minutes. I sensed it coming. Good writers, directors, and editors help with clues that magic moments are imminent. And they delivered. I am not the artist that they are, so I can but describe my reaction. I took part in the celebration described in the medium. Now that’s art.
Life as theater
My business partner and I have been working on a big project. Well, big for us, anyway. And we were fired. Not directly, but we lost the work anyway. The consultant who hired us got fired, and we went down with the ship. Getting paid for a lot of very good work, very hard work, was looking unlikely. But, as I suspected, that’s a negotiating ploy. I have found that getting paid for work for big companies is often like that. Find the work; bid; do the work; bill; fight for getting paid. But there is drama in this. And the strife, if well acted, is full of energizing ups and downs. I can still garden, and hike, and fight. And I like our opponents. We have to find a place where each of us wins. I think we can.
Walk well. God is love.
