Life Is Short

So. We should eat more June Taylor jams. Mind, I am making this statement having never eaten June’s jams. But I did see a video podcast about her and her jams. And I plan a Saturday adventure to the farmers’ market on San Francisco’s embarcadero this weekend. Yes. Labor Day weekend. It will be crowded. So I’ll go early. I am going to take the risk that June Taylor Jams is right up there with Cowgirl Creamery. The Cowgirl Creamery is in Point Reyes Station, California. And from my numerous visits, I consider Point Reyes Station to be one of the fine places to live and/or visit in the United States, especially if you like good food. The Bovine Bakery is on the town’s main street.
I was sitting on the sidewalk one Sunday morning, just in front of the bakery, eating an Armando roll. A couple sat next to me, our legs dangling over the street. The wife turned to me and said, “He makes me come here every Sunday. Sixty miles. Just so he can have his Armando roll.” I understood.
Rounding out the areas great food assets is Niman Ranch. Bill Niman got started on his property just south of Point Reyes National Seashore and produces some of the finest meats in the world.
Bless us, Oh Lord,
and these thy gifts which
we are about to receive from thy bounty,
through Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.
What a joyful prayer.
Walk well. God is love.
