Planting Day

Newly planted beds
The results are in! And it’s early planting by a landslide. Broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower in the center bed, back by the fence. Beets, pak choi, and radishes in the center of that bed. And carrots under the floating row cover (keeps seeds moist; protects from bugs and snails) at the front. Strawberries in the bed to the left. You can see Tuscan kale seedlings in the right bed. Chard seeds are planted next to it. Planting is a lot of fun. Of course we will plant more as the season progresses.

[EDITED 1/26/2008 4:00 pm PST — I just realized how pleasant it was to plant without having to stoop. Raised beds are the bomb.]
