Still Growing

More land! The raised beds are filling. Strawberries, two kinds of pak choi, chard, beets, two carrot varieties, green cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, Tuscan kale. And tomorrow I’ll plant Russian kale, red cabbage, six varieties of lettuces, and two tomato plants.

Winter garden The green plastic things in bed 1 are called Wall o Water™. A cylinder of vertical plastic tubes. The gardener fills the tubes 2/3 full of water and places them in the beds a week for planting.
The onions, garlic, and leeks in the low rectangular bed are really beautiful. Strong, green, and healthy.
More land!
Elaine laughs at me and my continuing urge for more tillable space. I want to plant two kinds of squash. She doesn’t like my favorite, yellow crookneck. I am not a big fan of zucchini. And squash takes a lot of space, up to ten feet in diameter. So. I’m preparing a bed in the middle of the fruit trees, on the slope. More work. More vegetables!
Walk well. God is love.
