Good Cheese

Point Reyes Station is still a small town. There is a bakery there where the best breakfast pastries in the world are cooked daily. And there is a creamery where the best cheese I have ever tasted is made: Cowgirl Creamery. Legendary.
I met my friend, Maria, at the new Berkeley Bowl — a big grocery store that features the best produce, meats, and cheeses available. And both of us splurged on cheese from Cowgirl. Expensive. Very expensive.
I saved the treat for this morning. A high of 90º was forecast for today, and I got my walk in early. Home by nine. I put a couple of ounces of the Mount Tam “triple cream” on ciabatta and toasted them, boiled an egg fresh from Ellen’s coop, and sliced some beautiful sweet honeydew melon. Best cheese I ever ate. I sat on the deck, looking across the Bay, and ate like a king. Good coffee.
Gardened.
As fine a morning as a man can have.
Walk well. God is love.
