A great idea

In 1934 the East Bay Regional Park District was formed. It was a great idea.

A sizable portion of the park lies on the ridgeline that runs above my home. And one of the joys new this year for me is hiking a long distance there.
A very sweet idea and implementation: benches at view sites. Someone who likes people came up with that and made it happen.

These parks have a profound effect on the community. And it is fitting that they are the community’s crown. There is joy as we see each other there. Frequent exclamations of happiness and gratitude. I am beginning to recognize some regulars, such as No H. I gave him that trail name when I called him Smith. And he replied, “No H. It’s Smit.”
Think of this: the district was formed during The Great Depression. Vision, very hard work. For these I am grateful.
Walk well. God is love.
